This teaching continues the series on what Jesus Christ has accomplished for the believer. As Jesus Christ he walked the earth and did what God required him to do. As Christ Jesus, he is the anointed one, exalted by God to be both Lord and Christ. In a world where people are searching for their identity – whether it be right, left, conservative, liberal, democrat, republican, etc. it is wonderful for the Christian believer to know that his identity is rooted in Christ Jesus. Each and every believer has been crucified, buried, made alive, raised and seated in the heavenlies with Christ Jesus. Because of this spiritual reality we are encouraged to walk according to our identity in Christ Jesus. We are dead to the world and the world is dead to us – for our life is hid with Christ in God.
