God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). It is interesting to note how this truth is repeated throughout God’s Word. It is spoken by men and women in prayer, by prophets encouraging the Children of Israel, by unbelievers, by Jesus Christ and by God Himself. For the most part when believers noted this great truth in prayer it was not to remind God that He is the Creator of heaven and earth – surely He does not require that. It was to approach God from a point of reverence and respect, to take note that surely the Creator of heaven and earth is worthy of all praise. This teaching also notes how the Word of God is echoed in God’s creation for the heavens declare His glory and the firmament shows His handiwork. This simple and great truth should certainly help all those who serve God to have greater confidence in His ability to deliver and care for His people. Nothing is too hard for the Creator of the heaven and earth.
