This teaching continues to discuss the importance and difference of the gift of holy spirit that was made available at Pentecost as opposed to the power that the apostles and others had been given while Jesus Christ ministered on earth. It discusses the following topics:
- The requirement for Jesus Christ to be a man in order to redeem mankind
- The exaltation of Jesus Christ – made Lord and Christ, given a name above all others, far above all principalities and powers, etc.
- The truth about his current spiritual nature – no longer to be known after the flesh
In order for Jesus Christ to carry out his current responsibilities, he is no longer just a man. Here are some of his characteristics and responsibilities:
- Lord of all (except God)
- Made higher than the heavens
- All powers subject to him
- Everything in heaven and earth must bow at this name
- Head of the body
- Responsible to direct the members of the body
- To nourish and cherish the church
- High priest forever
- The good shepherd
- Intercedes for us
- All power given to him
- The Judge the living and the dead
- Holds the keys to hell and death
- Responsible to execute God’s wrath
