The glory that we will share with Jesus Christ was not something that was an after thought for God; He knew of this and saw this before the foundation of the world – for Jesus Christ and for us. Part of his purpose in Christ was our glorification and this was something that was hidden in the mystery. Had the devil known of this and the truth that the Christ would be ruler over all, he would never have crucified him. He would have been content to have him continue his ministry on the earth rather than to allow him to be exalted to God’s right hand to rule over all and to have all those who believe on him to be glorified. Now that we have been blessed in all that Christ has accomplished, we are warned to not be talked out of it by the deceitfulness and slick arguments of those inspired by the evil one. We are to be on guard at every turn. Since his position is over all rulers and authorities, we also should recognize that no earthly authority has the right to supercede the glory of Christ. Everything this age has to offer should pale in comparision to our glory with the Lord Jesus Christ. Additionally, we should also have no problem to walk as we are exhorted to do – putting away anger, malice, blasphemy, etc. – not because we are trying to earn some privileged position, but because we already have one due to our completeness in Christ.
