This teaching emphasizes the unmatched greatness of God and the necessity of believing that He is able and willing to do what He has promised. Scripture declares that God performs wonders beyond number, created and governs the stars (including the Pleiades, Orion, and Arcturus), knows them by name, and has no equal or rival.
God’s power and deliverance are proclaimed throughout history, as seen in His acts for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and Daniel, showing that nations and rulers are nothing before Him. In fact, even unbelieving kings recognized the power of the Almighty God.
At the birth of Christ, this same Almighty God was praised. Though God’s presence was once associated with the tabernacle and temple, these were temporary. Through the holy spirit, God now makes His dwelling in people, not in temples made with hands.
The Almighty Creator—who commands the universe and at the same time strengthens the weak—has chosen to dwell in believers through Christ and the Spirit. Through Jesus Christ, all believers have direct access to God and are being built together as His habitation, God’s dwelling place.
