This teaching looks at how a persons heart can be hardened to not believe in a miracle working God. It considers how the apostles of the Lord saw and did mighty works and yet they could still become hard hearted towards believing God in situations that required solutions. The same is true for the Children of Israel – after all they had seen one would think that they would never question Gods ability let alone forget Him days without number. Having a heart that is hardened is having a mind that has become callous or dull. To avoid becoming this way means that we have to be extremely careful and cognizant of what we allow our minds to take in on a daily basis. If it could happen to the apostles in such a short period of time we dare never think that we could be exempt from it. The world around us will not help in any way in this respect – in fact, quite to the contrary. What we think regularly is under our control and it is this that will determine the course of our heart to expect the miraculous from our God and Father. The battle is spiritual and the weapons of our warfare needs must be centered on the Word of God and all that our Lord has accomplished for us.
