This teaching discusses the foundation for all healing that is available today: the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. It was the fall of Adam that brought sin and death into the world. Because of Adam’s sin, the door was opened for the consequences of that sin as well: death. Sickness and disease are a direct consequence of Adam’s sin. If Adam’s sin is the cause of sickness and disease, the solution must lie in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. It is that work that rescued man from the dominion of sin, and as a result, all consequences of that sin. This includes every sickness and every possible disease that could ever be brought against mankind.
The redemptive work of the promised Messiah was prophesied in detail in Isaiah 53. In this record, we can see that the coming Messiah would deal equally with both sin and its consequences: sickness & disease. The fall of Adam was complete and impacted body, soul, and spirit. The redemption brought by Jesus Christ dealt with wholeness for the whole man: body, soul, and spirit. His substitutionary sacrifice was a legal payment for Adam’s sin and brought complete deliverance from sin and sickness. There is no sickness or disease that is greater than the work that Jesus Christ has accomplished. Man’s total deliverance is assured by the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. All that is left for anyone to avail themselves of the benefits of this work is faith in what has been done.
