So many people through the ages have spent their time and energies to find a purpose for their lives, a meaning and a reason for living. They are called philosophers. According to EW Kenyon in Jesus the Healer, “… the man who really knows Jesus Christ, who has received Eternal Life, never turns to philosophy … Jesus, then, is the answer to all true philosophy”. Once a person accepts Jesus as Lord and believes that God has raised him from the dead, there is a change of ownership. That person’s life no longer really belongs to him/her but to the Lord Jesus Christ for he/she has been bought with a price. God’s Word then encourages believers to no longer live for themselves but for him which died for them and rose again. The believer has a purpose and a meaning that cannot be realized outside of accepting the Lord Jesus Christ. God’s purpose for the ages was the Lord Jesus Christ and once a person receives the new birth, that purpose is now their great purpose. That leads to a life that now has great meaning and value.
