When you consider the promises that God makes to His people, there really is no excuse to not believe God. When God called Saul to carry out a direct command, Samuel had to confront Saul as to why he did not obey God. Saul provided excuses but none of them were acceptable to God. As believers we need to be careful to not let the victim mentality of the age affect our ability to believe God and to do what His Word says. Many are unwilling to accept personal responsibility for their own decisions or any sort of accountability, instead they produce a multiplicity of excuses for their victimhood. God holds us accountable for the decisions that we make as regards His Word for the simple truth that He promises to be with us in all that we are asked to do. We will some day be asked to give an account of all that we have done whether good or bad before the Lord Jesus Christ with God’s intent being to reward His people. No matter what may come against us to dissuade us of our stand for Him, we have the promise that God and our Lord Jesus Christ will be with us. Let’s not make excuses but do our utmost to stand for God.
