This teaching discusses the issue of propaganda and how there is a constant battle that is waged for people’s minds. The main issue of concern for the believer is to recognize that the battle that we fight is rooted in the spiritual contest – the battle of the kingdom of God against the kingdom of the devil – spiritual wickedness from on high. One of the key targets of that battle is to move believers away from the gospel – despite the various issues of the day that might be in the foreground. The teaching looks at some “propaganda campaigns” in the Bible and how the actual facts were not important. The facts did not matter. It was the message that was being conveyed that was significant. There are so many sources of information that can constantly bombard the mind of the believer. We must be extremely careful what sources we allow entree to our minds. On the other hand we must continue daily to diligently adhere to the truths of scripture that we know are true – and will not change from this generation to the next. There are many counsels in men’s hearts but in the end it is the counsel of God that is critical for our lives.
