It is important to understand the impact that man-made religion has on the walk of a believer. Jesus Christ confronted the religionists of his day as did Paul the Apostle. In many cases these people who were supposed to be responsible for teaching the accuracy of the Word of God had ended up elevating their traditions and actions above the heart that one should have in serving and reverencing God. They were more interested in how they looked on the outside as opposed to what was on the inside. Even when they applied the things that God had given to bless man (ex. prayer, tithing, the Sabbath, the Law), the actions became more important than the intent that God had for giving these to His people. There are many warnings to the believer to be wary of the influences and impacts of this sort of thinking when it comes to worshipping and walking with the one True God.
