God has called us into the fellowship of His son, Jesus Christ. We now have fellowship with God and with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our fellowship, or full sharing, with Jesus Christ is rooted in our identification with all that he has accomplished on our behalf. The fellowship relationship that we can enjoy has been elevated to a new level. We should recognize and understand just how important our fellowship with God is to our lives. We should do all that we can to grow in our fellowship relationship with Him. We should not allow any other association, whether it be family or civil, to ever interfere or take precedence over our relationship and fellowship with God. The Word also assures us that the work that we do in order to grow in our relationship with Him will bear fruit not only in this life but also in the life to come. Why then wouldn’t we do all that we can to grow in that fellowship relationship?
