This teaching discusses how the Word of God lives because it is the Word of the Creator. It accomplishes the purposes for which He sends it. The teaching looks at the life of Jeremiah and how difficult it was for him to speak the Word due to the very negative reaction of Judah and Israel. Sometimes he spoke for many years and no one listened to him. What was it that allowed Jeremiah to be able to do this? He knew and believed God’s Word and he trusted that God would back up His Word. The Word was the joy and rejoicing of Jeremiah’s heart. Despite the reaction of the world, the Word lives. The reaction of the world cannot invalidate the truth and power that is in the Word of God. The teaching also discusses how Paul the Apostle, like Jeremiah, faced a great deal of resistance when it came to making known the Gospel. Yet despite the opposition, Paul continued to preach about righteousness, temperance and the judgement to come. He, like the believers before him, had his eyes firmly on what was coming in the ages ahead.
