Where exactly do you hold the Word of God in your life? This teaching examines some of the opinions and reactions to the Word of God in the Bible. Josiah, the King of Judah had a life changing reaction when the Word of God was found during his reign. This caused him to make some drastic improvements in his kingdom. Hezekiah, another king of Judah held a solemn Passover during his reign and he invited all those who wanted to come from both Judah and Israel. The messengers that he sent out were essentially mocked and scorned. The prophet Jeremiah, despite all the hardships that it caused him, made the Word of God the joy and rejoicing of his heart. Only each person can know what place the Word of God holds in their life and heart. Do we give it the place that is suggested by God or do we treat it like any other information that is available. Paul, in his epistles to Timothy encouraged the study of God’s Word recognizing how it was the Scriptures that brought a knowledge of salvation. He also declared that it was the Word of God that enabled anyone to be prepared for whatever situation and circumstance that came their way. The Word of God is established forever in heaven and it is up to each individual to give it the rightful place in their life.
