This teaching asks the question – “Just who do you think you are?” Do you think of yourself as someone who is alone, lonely, unwanted, a sinner that will never amount to anything, someone without purpose or meaning? Certainly these are the sorts of thoughts that many people have and that the world would encourage. On the other hand do you think of yourself as righteous, redeemed, without condemnation, beloved of God, a son or daughter of God? Certainly these are the thoughts that God’s Word would encourage us to think. And beyond these sorts of thoughts from the Book of Romans, God even raises the bar higher in Ephesians. How about holy and without blame, seated in the heavenlies, access to the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, the habitation of God? If someone were to ask you the question then, “Just who do you think you are?”, a clear Biblical response would be “I think of myself just as my Father God tells me to think.”
