Take Heed To Noah’s Warning

Most people are familiar with the record of Noah’s Ark in the Bible – but are you aware that Noah’s warning to Earth at that time still has relevance today? I suggest that if you have not already done so, “Take Heed To Noah’s Warning.”

To understand what I am saying, let’s briefly consider what Noah was trying to warn the world about. The Scriptures tell us that Noah was a preacher of righteousness. Well, what exactly was Noah preaching about? Let’s consider what God said to Noah.

Genesis 6:5, 6
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. [ESV]

From this, we can see that the days in which Noah lived were very evil – every intention of the thoughts of men was evil. God then told him what the solution to this problem was going to be.

Genesis 6:7
So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” [ESV]

This was the only solution to the dire state of the Earth. God then asked Noah to build an ark, a project that took him many decades. During that time, Noah preached about the coming flood and the destruction of the Earth. Note what the people around Noah were doing while he was working on the ark.

Luke 17:26, 27
Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. [ESV]

What were they doing? Well, they were just living life – weren’t they? They were eating, they were drinking, they were attending weddings, and so on – until Noah and his family entered the ark and the flood came. They had ignored all that Noah had told them until it was too late. And therein lies the relevance of Noah’s message to the Earth today.

A little over two thousand years ago, God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to redeem mankind. Jesus told them about things to come in the future, and he also told them that the only way for anyone to have eternal life was by believing on him. Well, as you know, they brutally tortured him and then crucified him. However, thanks be to God, that was not the end of the story. After three days and nights, God raised him from the dead and made him lord and Christ. And to this day, anyone who makes him lord and believes that God has raised him from the dead is born again and granted eternal life. This is a message and a promise that has been valid since it was first spoken.

The Bible also tells us that Jesus Christ will return to gather the church.

I Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. [ESV]

Several videos on the bibleharbor website provide more detail about this upcoming event. When Jesus Christ returns, he will gather the Christian church and, shortly after that will begin a series of events leading to the execution of the wrath of God on the Earth and the final judgment. This message is remarkably similar to what Noah was trying to tell all those on the Earth while he was working on his ark construction project, isn’t it?

In the days of Noah, the warning message was good until the flood came. Today, the open door of salvation to anyone who wants to believe is good until the return of Jesus Christ. According to the Scriptures, the return of Christ can happen at any time – maybe even today. If you have not yet believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, I urge you to accept the offer of salvation today.

That open offer to the entire world has been available for over two thousand years – it is still available today. Unfortunately, many people are too busy eating, drinking, attending weddings, and so on – you know, just living a normal life with no concern for the truths of the Bible. Pretty much just like in the days of Noah – wouldn’t you say?
