Warning! Warning! Trouble Ahead!

Many times I wish that the title of this article would be flashed on a person’s mental billboard when confronted by the constant barrage of what, though it is sugar-coated, can only be categorized as evil. Of course, the categorization that I am referring to is a biblical one and not one that is generally upheld by the values of our times.

What prompted this article were some pictures that I saw when I was browsing through a recent copy of this newspaper. They were pictures of some children who had been hypnotized by a visiting “entertainer” (that’s the sugar-coating in this case). The Word of God is very clear when it declares that God is very much in the favor of freedom of will. He is very much against the loss of that freedom of will which He has so lovingly granted man. All those who purport to place themselves in the business of doing what God has condemned do so at their own risk and peril. Secondly, all those who seek the company of people in that position do so at their own risk and peril as well.

It Is Written in the Word of God:

Ephesians 5:11, 12
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.”

In order to take heed to this scripture, I have written this article. In order to really profit from this solemn warning, you must check the scriptures yourself. The scriptures declare that there is an entity that is in the business of stealing the minds of men and women away from the one true God. This entity is referred to as the devil, Satan, the serpent, the accuser, Baal, Belial, the god of this world, etc. It is through his influence that hypnotists, for example, have such easy access to our schools. Sure we can legislate prayer out of our schools but God forbid that we should ever stop hypnotists from “entertaining” our children. Just exactly what are people thinking when they swallow logic like that?

In some respects this reaction is not surprising. Day after day, against very clear warnings from the scriptures, people continue to have a fascination with evil. Wizards “help” people with software, astrology books and papers litter store counters, tarot card readers pollute street corners, psychics crawl out from every gutter, new-agers continue to spew out verbal and senseless garbage, etc. ad nauseum. If you think that all of this is just harmless, then according to the scriptures, you are deceived. Might I suggest that you pick up a Bible and check for yourself.

In closing, instead of referring you to the title of this article, I’ll give you a much better phrased scriptural warning.

Proverbs 4:15
“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.”
