This teaching looks at the truth that there is one and only one God. When Jesus ministered on earth, he was clearly aware of this truth. He directed all glory to his Father, God. He told those who followed him to “have faith in God.” Jesus himself had great faith in God and he encouraged others to do likewise. Even when people had faith in Jesus or in others such as Paul, Peter, Philip, etc. they did so because they knew these men all walked with and trusted God. So in the end, the people had faith in God. Sometimes people get confused because of the great authority that God has bestowed upon His Son. However, we need to realize that though our approach to God is to be way of Jesus Christ, the final destination is always God.
