In the conclusion on this series on healing, this teaching looks at the reason why believers today should be able to actively bring deliverance to others. It looks at how every believer has now been made a “new creation”. The old things of the first creation (fashioned after Adam) are to be considered dead and the believer is to walk in the new creation that is fashioned after the image of God’s son. The new creation is not a theory or a philosophy but the truth of God’s Word. Jesus Christ had taught his disciples on what was going to happen after he was gone and the new creation is exactly that. Each believer has the spirit of God, the new birth spirit, Christ within – just like he had told his disciples. However, to walk in the power of that new creation, every person has to renew their minds to this powerful truth. When it comes to healing and deliverance, there are many “old truths” or ways of thinking that might hinder the walk in the new creation. These thoughts must be led captive to Christ within every believer.
Maybe sin caused my sickness → did redemption deal with sin and sickness? Yes!
I haven’t really been serving God lately → do your works invalidate redemption? No!
It didn’t work last time → does your experience invalidate Scripture? No! The Word is true – it has to work, there is no option except unbelief. (100% guarantee it won’t work if you do nothing). This is not a theory : this is the TRUTH!
I might look foolish → since when is any of this about you? Have we been born again for self or born again to serve?
I don’t have the power → it is not by our own power or holiness
This case is too difficult → it is not by our own power or holiness, living within us is the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead!
Each believer must learn to walk in the new creation if they are going to walk in the power of God’s spirit.
